Classroom champions from grades 3-6.

Eighteen classroom champions from grades 3-6 competed for the title of Airport Heights Spelling Bee Champion on Tuesday, Feb. 10.  Fourth grader Jaden won with the word “emporium.”

Jaden from Mr. Cromer’s 4th grade class earned the title and will compete at the Alaska State Spelling Bee on March 5th.  Good luck, Jaden!

After 21 rounds, Ka Sia Xiong emerged as the winner of the Airport Heights Spelling Bee.  Her winning word was “talisman.”  She will compete in the state bee on February 28th at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts.  Thanks to Alaska Integrated Media and the Anchorage Daily News for sponsoring the event.

That was the winning word in the 2013 Airport Heights Spelling Bee, won by 6th grader Calista!  Fourteen classroom champions in grades 3-6 competed for the honor of representing Airport Heights at the Alaska State Spelling Bee, which will be held March 1 at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts.
