Last night, Airport Heights students, families and staff were treated to a wonderful evening of literacy.

Parents and students watch and listen as Mrs. Blome reads during Family Literacy Night

We are very grateful to all of the people that helped set up the event and to everyone that came out to celebrate READING!

What do bikes and books have in common?

Well, for starters, you can win a bike and take home a book, just by coming to our Family Literacy Night.

Other things that bikes and books have in common:

  1. You can ride your bike to a quiet place to read a book.
  2. You can read a book about a boy and a bike. (Mick Hart was Here is and excellent choice.)
  3. You can ride a bike to the library to check out books this summer.
  4. Bikes can take you places that you really want to visit. Books can take you places that you really want to learn about.
  5. Books are fun. Bikes are fun.

Airport Heights Family Literacy is this Thursday, April 19 from 6 pm to 8:30. There will be many literacy related activities, FREE Pizza for the family, books to take home, and drawings for many prizes including the bikes you see in the picture.

We hope to see you there!
